I have never really used water when cutting something that branchesor anything like that. Any larger flat corals like acans I would use some saltwater with it, to keep the blade cool.

i use saltwater with a drop of iodine healing is super quick that way.
just make sure to clean good after

coral shouldnt be out of the water that long so shouldnt need anything,

Sometimes if your cutting large flat corals(fungia)the saw blade can become hot and burn tissue of the coral which is not good. The Lugo's with saltwater sounds like a good bet.
