I have a fairly large and established blood shrimp. I've read they can be territorial and I credit the blood shrimp with killing 2 peppermint shrimp that I tried to add to the tank. I saw the blood shrimp charge at one of them. I'm wondering if the shrimp would likely go after a porcelain crab as well. I don't want to find out the hard way.

I just added peppermint shrimp to my tank with a blood red shrimp and I was wondering where they all went. Can anyone confirm that they kill peppermint shrimp?
I asked that question when I bought them and I was told it wouldn't be a problem to add the peppermint.

The blood shrimp didn't bother my cleaner either.
Just not sure where the Peppermint went.
I put four in and only see one now.

Peppermint shrimp are very elusive. Often time they are only spotted with a flashlight after lights out.

I'd bet they are alive and well, just doing a good job at staying out of sight in the daytime.

My blood shrimp is almost 3 times the size of the porcelain crab and my pom pom crab. They even made homes literally 5" from each other and ive never seen any aggression in over a year. Although my porcelain crab has always had a host anemone, so i dont know if thats been the key to my success. Hope that helps, good luck.

Thanks everyone. I think blood shrimp can be territorial and deadly if they are introduced first and establish the whole (nano) tank as theirs. When introduced at the same time success is more likely.
Given that I didn't get any "don't do it responses" I'll get a porcelain crab. Maybe it will host my rbta. My ora occ have no interest.
