RO/DI output

I have the aquasafe unit from e-bay. I have no problems in regards to the quality of my water, but I've had questionable output from the unit. My unit is hooked up directly to my cold water line, so I don't have the luxury of using a little warm water to speed the output. Right now, I'm making approx. 1 gallon every 45 minutes.

Do any of you have an output problem with these units? I'm wondering if I have a low PSI out of the unit. Where would be the best place for my to buy a PSI gauge?

How many gallons per day is your unit rated at?

put the gauge at the input to the filter and see what your house pressure is,should make 1 gal every 15 min.

I think it should have you may want to contact the seller and tell them about it maybe they will send you one.

They have different specials all the time. It comes with the PSI sometimes. I just ordered one. I should have the readings in the next few days. That will hopefully help me troubleshoot the unit. What is a desirable PSI?

Wait, one can use warm water to increase water output? I thought warm water was a no-no??

Your output will decrease due to the cold temperature of the incoming water source.
To actually get the stated gph, the conditions must be within a certain range. Something like 60 psi and the temp I tend to forget.

On melev's reef he suggests running the RO/DI from the cold water tap and heating the tubing to get the optimal output.

I use a faucet adapter and can regulate the temp of my water with ease. I also use a RO booster pump to get my pressure up to 100psi because the faucet pressure is a little below 40 psi. I can make over 2-3 gallons an hour easy.

Filmtec membranes are rated at 50 psi, 77 degrees F, and 250 ppm tds. Other brands of membranes tend to require higher pressures - some 60 psi, some 65 psi.
