Thanks to a tiny cut on my finger I have found stray voltage. So far unplugging the chiller and Red Sea wavemaker have illiminated the "tingle" in my finger.

2 questions......

1. How do I use a multimeter to check for voltage?

2. I can feel the voltage in the sump but not the main display, any reason for this? The main display is 325, and the sump is a 180 about 1/2 full.

Well, had a sandwich, and went back to the tank. Plugged in the suspected leakers and no more tingle. I do have a multimeter but didn't know the setting to use. Mine has Vac settings of 600 and 200. Tried both and got a reading of 0.

what's in the sump that's electrical and unplug each of them one by one to determine the source...most likely it's a heater...

My sump is in the garage 8' below the tank. One culprit I thought was the wavemaker/powerheads. Thought it was wierd the voltage was in the sump but not display. I will monitor the take closer for voltage from now on.
