What are you dosing and why?

If there is a thread out there for this already please point me to it. If not, what addititives/supplements is everybody dosing, why, and with what results?

Brightwells Vit C for my zoas and palys

Reef Code A & B for Ca and Alk demands

Kent Mg for Mg levels and to inhibit nusiance algae growth

other than that I keep it simple with weekly waterchanges and maintaining stability.

Keeping your hands out of the tank is also an important factor

I started to get bleaching on my acans and SPS. Once I started dosing randy's recipe alk cal and Mag, the colors came back. My acan is not totally colored up, but looks way healthier than when it was stark white.

i don't test for anything, so i'm hesitant to dose calc/alk/mg.

alot of you use bionic 2 part - i currently use Cbalance wanted to switch btwn bionic versus reefcode A&B - any pros or cons on the prods or its just the same stuff just diff brand.

I use brs two part solution wich included magnesium I found it to be the same as b ionic and much cheaper .

what type of corals do you have in your tank? your alk/cal does not drop at all in between water changes?
i answered own question- i see in your thread -no sps no clams

nothing crazy. all lps/softies and one or two stonys. zoas, shrooms, leathers, acans, palys, euphyilla heads, blastos, favias, BTA, ect... my cal is 500, alk is 10 and my mag is 1600. has not changed or dropped in about 4 months now. i was dosing magnesium 2 months ago when i was battleing bryopsis but thats about it. every time my cal drops to like 450 or mag is 1550 or alk drops to 8-9 which happens in about a week, i do a water change and its back to 500 calcium, ask is 10 and 1600 magnesium.

i must have a bad batch of esv?! my mag is always 1290.i never dose mag but is constantly 1290(beginning and end of week) i must be testing wrong or something? i use salifert kit but i never know when it turns gray or blue lol

I learned a cool trick from jarette shark,when It's time to drop in the last solution just keep shaking the bottle & constantly inject it till it changes color trust me It's way faster

Well I did dose magnesium everyday for 3 week straight until I was at 2000. Like I said mainly to kill algae. Now it just stays 1600.
