You will get 50 different answers so here is mine. I had probably close to 100 polyps of aptasia growing. First I bought some peppermint shrimp but nothing was happening hmm I realized my malenarus was eating them. Then I used aptasia-x and bought a file fish. I have not had one polyp since. Knock on wood.

Thank you! I will buy aptasia-X along with peppermint shrimp and a file fish today if I find that fish

Make sure the peppermint shrimp are from the Caribbean. The indo ones are more apt to pick at corals. And be careful with the filefish, they have the potential to do the same. I had 2 peppermints in my 140g. Gave one away, and keep one on patrol. My only issue with him is that he has eaten all my cerith snails. Its a price I'm willing to pay for no aptasia. GL.

Thanks man, I picked up 5 peppermint shrimp today and a Copperband Butterfly and I'm hoping that does the job until I purchase aptasia-X which wasn't in stock today

Berghia's only eat aiptasia from what I have been told. Once the aiptasia is gone the nudi's will starve. I wouldn't suggest them unless you have a major infestation or an ongoing problem that has not been remedied with other methods. That said, they do work.

How many aiptasia do you have in your tank? If it is not over run I would just wait and see how the shrimp and CBB do with eliminating them.

So I would stray away then, I have 1 visible aptasia

Make sure that copperband is eating! I tried the copperband route. He was eating and fat at the lfs. Acclimated very well. As soon as my lights came on, he was under attack from one of my tangs. Literally harrassed to death. They are very sensitive fish and can be finicky eaters.

He's been eating great and he's picking at the rock with aptasia but hasn't quite found it yet. He's the biggest fish so far. I'm looking to add my tangs very soon
