Filter Socks - mesh or felt

Any opinions on the preferred type?

mesh filter better, but have to be changed more often.
i use mesh and change them twice a week.

mesh does tend to clog fast but it is a lot easier to clean. i use 6 socks at once so the ease of maintenance is important to me

sorry but i meant to say i use felt, i feel it filters better.

I use felt and it helps with the bioload. I have 30 and I change them sometimes daily then at the end of the week throw them in the washer and they come out clean.

My felt ones keep clogging up on me and creates a terrible issue. The water in the return starts to back up, then the sump gets low, triggers the ATO and before I know it the ATO has pumped in a few gallons of fresh water. I don't mind changing them weekly, but every two-three days seems like a lot for someone who feeds once a day.

Most people will get no more than 3-4 days on a quality filter sock. This is typical and you should not feel like somethings wrong.
