i’m not sure if i would call it success
i had ups and downs too
but i really think it just takes time to mature
i was using fuge with cheato, biopellets, nopox, phosban
but one day the tank stopped needing anything
now i just use protein skimmer and water changes which i’m lazy about doing too
also try not to touch the tank ( hands out of the tank)
plus learn from the gurus on line and in person
Speaking of in person, I'd love to have you over for freshly baked goods, coffee, and consulting!
Pictures are an absolute stunner!

I'd love to hear how/if you're doing anything to keep your nitrates elevated. I'm having a really, really tough time increasing them and keeping them stable, even with feeding a cube a day and dry food 4 times a day. With similar parameters like yours, I've just recently begun dropping down my Alk from 8.5 down to 7.5 to be more in line with lack of nitrates as my sps are browning out very fast, and growth seems stunted

i did recently drop alk from 8.5-7.5 about 5 months ago

i use the salifert test kit and as long as i see some color i think i’m good
if i’m 0-2 then i will dose neonitro
i also add reefroids when phosphates go too low anything under 0.02
i find that and polypbooster makes makes my phosphates go up a little
i tried to feed some reef frenzy lrs and mysis daily

it’s funny i only use a skimmer now
i used a fuge in the past
then i used biopellets
then nopox
then everything just settled and now just skimmer and water changed
but i think the corals are just eating the nutrients now

Makes sense due to the amount and size of the corals.

any difference from the alk drop?

idk i can’t tell
i used to keep it 8.5 but every time i do water changes it drops so now i keep it little lower
i am getting good growth and i’m happy with colors
i was busy for a while and neglected the tank
it had algae on the glass everywhere but i think the tank was happier i didn’t touch anything
now i’m back to cutting stuff and so i’m sure my alk will go up
they seem pissed off when i cut them and don’t want to consume alk for a few days
but i do get new tips when i cut
