yea it's like 25 bucks and there is a bunch of diff vendors..diamonds of the reef, saltwater critters, cherry corals, crazy mad corals, wingo, jimmy from acan led, I think another coral vendor or 2. Then of course we have raffles 50/50 and then the one with equipment from sponsors and corals and gift certificates from vendors. It is always a good time and a great way to support our reef community

Well said Trigger, but you could have given the Raffle even more good press ;)
Note- we have not yet decided specifically on the vendors for this swap yet - the ones mentioned above are from prior swaps.

Last I checked Brooklyn was still a part of NYC..lol
Seriously - it's Manhattan - down by J & R :) - the same place we hold it every other swap!

A lot of people refer to manhattan as the city. I do as well. Maybe not the older generation but younger peeps its very common.

...ehem...the older generation??? :sigh:
ummm...kid...Manhattan's been called 'the city' forever..I was having fun with the OP...but thanks for pointing out the age thing...hopefully there will still be raffle tickets left for sale by the time you wander over to the table...lol

Yes, there is a fee to attend. Lunch will be provided, along with access to the best vendors for coral/fish there is :)

Approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the event we will post a Swap RSVP thread on which you will need to RSVP by paying the fee through PAYPAL.

As we always sell out our Swap, you will want to pre-register when it is posted as we do NOT allow walk-ins at the Swap. Don't wait until the last minute!

We will also have a couple of new rules for members buying/selling at this swap- so watch for those too :)

Many more details regaridng the swap will be posted as we get nearer to the date!!:flower:

How does the swap exactly work? Sorry im new lol

It being 12:38 AM..I need to ask..did you read the thread? :) Lots of good info in here on how the Swap works.
Short version...
You spend some money to register before we sell all of the tickets to the event.
You spend more money than you planned buying all sorts of goodies at the swap.
(called a swap, but most stuff is bought & sold, either from other members or the vendors who sell at the swap)
You have a great time at the swap meeting a bunch great of people who share the same hobby as you and you get to put names to the faces.
You have new found friends.
You buy Raffle tickets and hope like heck you will be a winner (ok, that was a plug for the Raffle, plain and simple :))
You go home and place your new frags lovingly into your tank.
You read all of the posts and look at the pics of what everyone bought at the swap for about the next month.
You look for the next thread telling when the next frag swap will be.
:)

I haven't set my tank up yet (I'm really taking my time to soak all the info up), but I really wanna go to the swap. Is that ok? If so how do I register and how much?

Absolutely ok. It's actually encouraged.

The swap registration is not open yet. This thread is just a heads up so that people begin reserving the date on their 'party calender'. The registration will commence about 6 weeks before the event date.
