If it does come tonight:
I will text you all.
I will do a general smell and vision check of the bags to check for obvious issues.
I will float the bags in room temp SW.
Wait for you to come by if you can still make it.
If it comes Friday...
Well, I am leaving at 5pm.
I would like it if everyone can pick up as early as possible.
I think most people wanted to pick up between 6-1am. I wont be available during that time tomorrow.
So, I'm hoping there is a way to arrive much much earlier.
text.
Just for record keeping:
I finally got through USPS headquarters and they are as baffled as I am.
Said that it should have been delivered, and that I didn't even need to be there for them to just leave it as per usual.
Said system hasn't been updated with a reason for why the driver did not deliver it, which is usually what they should do during every shift.
He did say that it is out for delivery again and that I should call back if it doesn't arrive by 3pm.
Also, I have tried calling the 'local' usps office that handles my delivery and all of their numbers given by the USPS headquarters and online are 'busy'.
It's on the truck right now.
I also put a big sign in the front window telling them to ring the bell or to just leave it.
A gentle reminder that there are living things in the box that could die.
I flagged down a USPS truck near my block. But it didn't have the package. He suggested I go check the local office.
Drove to the local USPS office.
They did not have the package.
They said it was out on a truck for delivery.
Said there can be multiple trucks....
said that it has all day to be delivered.
If it does come today then pick up is after 11pm.
or Saturday before 11am and after 5pm.
I am sure no one, let alone myself, wanted such an experience.
Sad to hear. Pretty sure a lot if not all are dead.
Sorry Will that you have been home all day and now running around trying to find the package. The usps are so unreliable at times.
Thanks for keeping us posted
