Id help

I've got this white 'stringy' thing growing on my LR. Tanks been up and running for over two years and this is the first time I've seen anything like this here.
I'm not sure, but I think it could be a type of sponge. Anybody know for sure?

my guess would be a branching sponge of some sort...

My initial thoughts also. The second pic, top right of the white stuff, has a true spongelike appearance.
