What is this in my tank?

Yes most likley, they usually hide in the rocks and only come out at night

Micro brittlestars do not eat small fish.

ill tell you what they really eat ...........your snails..i have 2 green ones in my tank just got them and already nthey ate seven margaritas and two turbos..they gotta go back to ft.......n i also have a black one and he doesnt eat the snails.....

Sigh....Microbrittle starfish are scavengers and I doubt they can kill snails. Large green brittle stars on the other hand, are capable of killing fish and inverts.

I have a microstar explosion in my tank, I wouldn't worry about your hitchiker and would actually give thanks to the fish god(s) (don't want to push poly or monotheism on anybody), for giving you such a good hitchhiker.

i have lots of micro brittles as well as a large black brittle and two harlequin brittles- i've never noticed them going after anything other than cyclopeeze, though i guess the large brittle could probably get a small fish if it wanted to..

my mantis on the other hand....:irked:
