It is around 8-10 inches....green from inside with purple tips...it does not have a foot....has a flat base, more like a hole.......any idea if this should be placed on a rock or in a sand bed? Does it need string flow, lighting etc?

regards

@Lenny718 - thanks a ton for the info.....so they are to be kept on the sand bed with strong flow...this guy retracts like crazy even if u move your hand over it....

@Arnaldox - picked up from Azure Aquatics - Ralph....unfortunately, he just had one of these!

No problem, treat it as one of those rock anemones that stay on the sand bed. I'd say medium/random flow should be fine.

It's a Beaded Sea Anemone, Heteractis aurora. On liveaquaria it's categorized as being in the same care difficulty as H. Magnifica and since I have a magnifica, what I could tell you is...make sure you have good flow, lighting and water quality and most importantly make sure all those things are consistent, especially lighting and water flow or else they will move often. Good luck.
