Is there anywhere that it is permitted to collect corals for your own tank? How about peurto rico? Signed naive wannabe diver.

I saw a company in Florida that collects fish. I don't remember their name or website, but they metioned taking paying customers on their dives. They let you use their nets and you take home what you catch. Sounds fun, maybe a good vacation deal. It was out of my price range though, you have to pay out the ears for equipment rental, etc.

You would need to have a collection permit in order to legally collect animals for your tank. I'm not 100% sure, but I would assume that coral collection in Puerto Rico is illegal.

There are some collectors that will let you net your own fish on thier permit. As for corals there are only a couple places that they can be collected. But the problem as I understand it is you can not take them in to Florida.
