Oh great , why did you post then? Now..... not only do us Georgians need to make room for a Mr JR ...........but now thanks to your lack of keyboard self control. The INTIRE world is going have to learn to live with a really pissed of leader of the underworld! {the devil doesnt handle frost real well and thanks to JR...... this hell freezing thing is going to keep the horned guy in a really bad mood ]

That's ok.. maybe it will seep up to GA somewhat.. I think of the south as "hell" with all that heat and humidity.

Jeremy.......do you like sweet tea or unsweetened ice tea?
And do you have a preference as to how the sweetness is removed from your tea? I mean since your coming to Ga against your will and all ...............I thought it best to plan out your stay and make it as refreshing as possible.
Perhaps if you get some one to unknowingly post to this thread, your southern curse could be transferred to somebody ?

The terapins have been out here for a few months. Started seeing the snappers out and about since the last of May.

Mass ass chew sits, gets just as hot and humid as Joeja does......only it doesn't last for very long. One day of summer and that's it, see ya, it's over and outta here just that fast.

Kalk in this part o the country they like to put apple or grape juice in the tea. Way to sweet for my liking, but it is very popular here.

And JR, a few years ago Jenn, Rover and Kalk got to play in a blizzard and I won't even mention the number of "Ice Storms" they've had to endure.

JT, you ever see a whole city shut down because of snow, well you'll get to be part of that this winter.

Yeah.. where I grew up it got -40 without wind chill in the winter, and 100+ in the summer, but it wasn't humid. It's been 90ish and humid here the last week, and I hate it. Living like that for 8 months out of the year doesn't appeal to me. :P

I would think just about any fish room in any LFS would simulate the South this time of year. What part of the store do you work in JR? I bet its hard to avoid the fish room ! What sane person wold work in a tropical fish store ........and hate damp hot humid air?In our store we actually go outside to escape the heat and humidity!

it's been averageing 60° at night and 73-75° during the day here for the past 2 months

now if we could only nix the quakes and tsunami warnings like the ones we had this week, everything would be just peachy :P

I much prefer GA to "Massive two sh***".... especially since they decided to dig up Boston a few years ago 8O

Evenings and morings here are nice and mild lately - just the heat of the day that can be a bit much, but my fish room is about 77-78... the wonder of air conditioning is standard issue here.

Sally, I missed the ice storms and blizzards you referred to - even the ice storm this past winter, I was in Mexico when that happened. I did sustain major damage from a hail storm in February - $1,600 worth to my truck and $5,000 to my roof and house - but insurance takes care of that. I do find it rather amusing though, that if there is a threat of 3 flakes of snow making contact with the ground within a 200-mile radius, the entire state seems to shut down, and milk, bread and bottled water fly off the store shelves faster than they did for Y2K. :P When I was growing up, our school bus often got stuck in the snow - there were very few school cancellations, and never for a "maybe"... It MIGHT snow, so we'll cancel school!! Absurd! Love it when they keep the kids in at recess because it's 'too cold' too... heck we played outside no matter what the temperature - bundled like Nanook of the North... but as kids we never seemed to feel the cold the way we do as "old farts" now :)

Haven't heard a tornado siren yet this year, but that's coming! We also had a visit from Hurricane Ivan last year too, although he'd lost most of his punch by the time he got here, but he was troublesome enough to knock out our power for a few hours, and a few trees in our neighbourhood.

Still, I'd prefer the steamy heat of summer, over a -52 with wind-chill morning any day. And for what it's worth, we got hot steamy weather up in Canada too - my mother called me last week complaining of the heat - she has no AC and has been 'forced' to spend most of her days at the lake 8) where she can cool off (yep tough life!). The dog days of summer are of shorter duration there, yes, but without AC it's miserable - and most folks there do not have AC, so they end up on the beaches and in the shopping malls for relief.

I'm content here in Georgia!

Jenn, it's funny that you said that. One of my sisters lives in FL with no furnace. She has the tendincy to let me know that her 30* is colder than my 30* I know IT feels colder to her, but still 30 is 30 no matter where you live.

Ivan or one of the other 3 huricanes last summer did damage to my parents home, put a tree branch threw the roof. I wish coastalers would keep their huricanes and typhoons to themselves, just not the sort of thing that needs to be shared

Here in the mid-west (folks here think their in the South, but they haven't a clue) the temps are running mid 80's this week with little to no humdity, last week we were in the upper 80's with humidity around 90%. Now that's muggy! Start dripping sweat just going outside to feed the pets.

And since the discussion was about JT moven to Hotlanta, this brings up that I'm planning a fish run that way. Bringing a girly friend who's never been there, so she gets the $5. tour end of July first of Aug. JT you grummpy old uncle, let me know where your at, so I can come visit and you can meet a true GA redneck!!!! Jenn, your on the list of stops also. Kalkly, if you'll let me know when your in shop, I'll drop in there too. Now, did I miss any one?

Only one stop necessary. JT is working here. ;) Kalk's store is about 20 minutes' drive or so south of here. Glenn is halfway across the planet over in Athens *g*.
