WHOOOT???

What happened to your shop?!

Drop me a line and catch me up!

Jenn

My partner disappeared. Owes me money, but I have 4 of his tanks. It doesn't make sense. Haven't heard from him in 1.5 weeks now. I thought he was a friend of mine, but I suppose he doesn't care much. He was supposed to help me move all the heavy stuff out of my apartment, but that came and went, too. I got other help.

I can't exist that way, anyway. I need a regular paycheck, and it's got to be more than what he was paying me. The pay I was supposed to get when the shop opened never materialized.

Also, he had 6 months to get the shop ready to open. As of right now, it's almost in the same shape it was in 6 months ago...no closer to being open. I'm done waiting. I have a family to support.

I have a great opportunity in real estate in Myrtle Beach due to my parents. Paulette is all for it, and is selling her house here and her business and moving down there with me. He son Tyler is also coming, of course, and I'm very excited.

So, there ya go. It's disappointing, because I knew I could make great money with a shop in this area. Big money is coming my way, though...I can feel it.

Peace,

Chip

I'm sure real estate is a much easier way to go. I know a lot of long time dealers and pretty much to a man (or woman) they would all like to be doing something else. Myrtle Beach should be very lucrative. Maybe you can volunteer to help out at Ripley's Aquarium if you need a fish fix.
Good luck.

My service technician got married at Ripley's there last May. Nice aquarium :) We spent the weekend there but didn't get a chance to scope out any LFS.

According to the MB Chamber of Commerce, there aren't even any pet stores there, let alone saltwater shops.

I agree...Ripley's Aquarium is awesome. Been there once before, and am going down again this month.

The real estate market in MB is lucrative, Mitch...you're right. My folks started last year (at the bottom level) and made $130,000. If I made $130,000 my first year I'd be rollin' in it. :)

S'okay. What's meant to happen, happens. You let the universe take you along to where you're supposed to be.

Glad that all is well with you and the family tho... ya scared me there for a bit ;)

Sorry about that. I appreciate you caring, tho. :)

Let us know when you're headed this way - we'll make an evening of it!

It's 8 hours by car and $250 by plane, but I'll work something out once I'm down there and making $5k/month. :)

Peace,

Chip,

I didn't know you were a red neck, MB is red neck country hope you can bring your accent. Let me know if you need help speaking southern, Mitch and I can offer you classes. I also speak hill billy. Brush up on your NASCAR

Ripey's SUCKS, fish are always sick, they don't pay their employees well, it's a money maker not an aquaruim, do yourself a favor and drive to Fort Fisher, NC or Charleston, SC if you want to see a real aquaruim not a toursit trap.

Their are a few stores in the area, but they are north of town. Nothing that nice. Charleston has a few stores as well. Personally I would move to Georgetown in a second, and you couldn't pay me a million dollars to move to MB. I hate WINGS and such shops.

GOOD LUCK.

I drove to MB last May for that wedding - never took me 8 hours. I don't remember exactly but maybe 5 hours? It wasn't bad at all - rather a pleasant drive actually.

Nothing looked sick at Ripley's when I was there. Been to the Ripley's in Gatlinburg, TN also and found both aquariums to be quite impressive. In fact I liked Ripley's better than the TN Aquarium in Chattanooga. Just because it's a "for profit" business doesn't make it worse - in fact it's probably more likely to be run better that way.

GOOD LUCK.

Just for the record, Florida IS NOT a southern speaking state, in fact it's not even part of the south. It's flat with no character and a crapload of FireAnts. That's all Chip has to look forward to. 8)

Florida, at this time of year, is a French-speaking state. All the Quebecois that spend their winter vacations there ;)

Heh I grew up in Quebec ;)

My Mom took us to Florida one winter for a week - I heard more French spoken in Tampa and Orlando than I ever heard in Montreal in all the times I went there!

That's what I've been trying to do...just sit back and not be upset about where I'm taken. It's supposed to happen. :)

I'm just glad all is well :)

It is! Paulette and Tyler are excited as well, and will be even more so once they spend a week down there (leaving the 18th of this month for a week.)

I drove to MB last May for that wedding - never took me 8 hours. I don't remember exactly but maybe 5 hours? It wasn't bad at all - rather a pleasant drive actually.

Well then, expect to see me at some point within the next 3 months or so...I'd love to drive out and do the store tour. :)

I'll be taking tons of detailed pictures and video when I go next week. Maybe I can get a tour of the 'behind the scenes' as well.

Peace,

Chip
