Hey can anyone provide me with the price of one of the metal band bag sealing units and the cost of the metal bands?

Thanks

I don't think I have the info anymore, Mike, hopefully somebody will chime in but I recall seeing one of those units at a trade show - if my memory serves (which is dubious on a good day!) I *think* it was about $700USD or so. Not sure about the replacement bands - as I said I'm sure somebody else will chime in here.

If somebody knows where I can get a clip gun for under $1000 I will take it!

I am a shipper out of Hawaii and the prices quoted from tipper tie and poly clip are starting at $3000.

tipper tie used to make a manual one that sold for $900 but discontinued it and will only pull out the old plans and make them if someone wants over 2 dozen.

If someone does have an old one contact me. I need a backup.

You can also try the Manley Company for the clip machines...they are in the 909 area code. The price is also about $3000+, but that's the price to pay for good machines. You can get a lease option from them.

Good luck.

I guess working in the Meat packing industry has some advatages...

Polyclip and Tipper Tie are the only two manufactures that make metal clip tieing machines, I work with both at work, they are both equally reliable, though they can be tempermental, Once you get the feel for each ones idiosyncracies, they are very reliable and easy to maintain. Granted in my industry we work them much harder than they ever could be used in the aquarium trade. (continuously 16 hours a day 7 days a week)

That being said they are wonderful machines, I feel they are probably a bit expensive, and most require a high pressure air source, I would think a standard air compressor to run a nail gun would work. If you have any more questions regarding them (other than price) let me know.

I have used the manual poly-clips before, not that bad, I can rubber banded faster than clipping but you dont' get blisters. I think they are about 500 if I remember correctly. If you boxing a few hundred bags once a week or so I would think the manual is fine, but if you shipping a lot everyday, then spend the big bucks and get the air powered one,

We only use the hand clipping machines. They are about $3K each and are much faster than rubberbanding, especially when you have to use multiple bags on some items which also means clipping twice on the same bag.

They last a long time and are easily maintained. From our experience, there is no way to get around this issue. We currently have 12 of these costly machines.

We prefer these more than the automatic ones which are faster, but need air compressors and more maintenance.

That's our experience anyway.

Best regards

Eric
