What type of market is out there for xenia? How many xenia would have to be shipped to make wholesalers happy? How little would someone get for them? What would be the ideal size? What type of xenia?

The reason I ask is I am looking at adding them to my greenhouse.

Thanks

Philip

I know my LFS sells the Pom Pom for $80 for about 2" frag attached. There's a waiting list too.

That question is best left to the wholesaler that is closest to you. Xenia doesn't ship all that well, so it's best to find a local wholesaler to deal with ;)

I should have said propagated. That's what they are selling for this price. It's outragous! I refuse to pay that much.

OMG! That means I have like $1000 worth of xenia in my tank right now!

ROFL!

That stuff is a weed. I am going to have to start removing it like macro algae.

Now the Xenia Elongata.... That's a different story. Everyone I know had great luck with it for a while, then it melts. It's beautiful, (IMHO) frags well, and attaches to plugs over-night. I just can not keep it in my tanks any more for some reason.

Sure, Xenia doesn't ship well, it's best to find a local wholesaler to sell to.

I always have Xenia - and lots of it. Never buy it. I trade it from local hobbyists, and it trades cheap, and sells cheap.

It varies depending on region.

How many xenia would have to be shipped to make wholesalers happy?

Depends on the wholesaler. This is not a flip answer, but you will have to talk to different wholesalers to see what they would like.

How little would someone get for them?
Again depends on the region.

What would be the ideal size? What type of xenia?

It would vary from wholesaler to wholesaler

The reason I ask is I am looking at adding them to my greenhouse.

IMO most wholesalers would be looking for consistency in availability.
