Is there legislation in the works that would require contents of hobby remedies/supplements be disclosed via labeling?

Short answer, no. Feeds are regulated and required to comply with the US labelling Act.

Thanks, I had heard something was in the works but a search turned up nothing. And yes, the question was directed at what would traditionally be considered non-food items.

Would specialty animal feeds be required to disclose contents?

If a product was marketed as a feed for bivalves would it have to disclose the contents?

I am really curious to know what is in some of these feeds. Thanks in advance for any replies.

If it is a feed who's purpose is to feed an animal, yes, it falls under the US Labelling Act.

All major brands of phytoplankton meet the labelling Act if that's where your going with that line of questioning.

Very doubtfull IMO. Why would they tackle that, yet not tackle the human snake oils? Very little is done with dietary herbal remedies, yet many can kill you if used wrong.

Actually what I was wondering was if some of the products that are marketed as "vital" have the ingredients on them. Would those be considered feeds?
