My point being that paying a bit more for quality is worth it. Don't judge solely on a price list. That seems to be the name of the game these days.

The most expensive critter is a dead critter. The next most expensive is a live one that doesn't sell and takes up space that could be occupied by something that will sell.

I tried to drill that into the head of a LFS owner. Never worked. Fish sit there for months on end only to die, be given away, and reordered.

Well that sounds like as much a husbandry issue as a source one.

Even the best caught/handled fish will die if they aren't in a properly filtered and maintained system.
