Whats up at PFO?

Anyone know whats going on over at PFO? No answer email or phone in a long time.

Last I saw they were in the middle of a law suit over patent infringement or something along those lines. That was 6 months ago or so. Not sure if that would have anything to do with not getting to the phone.

You don't know the depth of the issue then. The case can be devastating to the ENTIRE industry if they loose. I won't say anymore other then I would hate to be in the MO lighting biz if they loose. A lot is at stake.

A civil suit is a matter of public record.
You mentioned that it impacts our hobby and I would like to know more details.

Bill Gates had some interesting comments about the slack patent system a while ago. I think his thoughts are right on the money. Fingers are crossed for PFO here. Can google it for info, Some agriculture company is making a claim on the timeing and light simulations and more. This might affect controllers too if they win.

In context, it sounds like he is happy that he did not put out a product (that could be similar to something PFO put out), before some patent infringement mumbo jumbo came to light.
