Living Color installed it but from what I have read, it was built by one of their suppliers.

Just so you don't have to use the link I provided in the second post, I'll provide a quote for you.

"I would definitely call this a catastrophic failure, a very rare event," said Mat Roy, president of Living Color, the Fort Lauderdale firm that installed the aquarium at Gulfstream and two smaller ones behind the backstop at Marlins Park.

The acrylic cylinder used in the aquarium was manufactured by Reynolds Polymer Technology, Inc., of Grand Junction, Colo. "It is inexplicable why this leak would have developed as it did, in the location it did," said Mark Miller, the company's chief financial officer. He said company representatives would inspect the tank later this week.

He's just quoting the press release of which they never mentioned Reynolds... they require that vendor sell to them again so I think after Matt Roy stated the above, he figured it would be best NOT to keep harping on "it was Reynolds"... LC is still the installer and I highly suspect, their bond is what is going to be called in.

Looks like a Reynolds boo boo to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIzKtE6xSr8 Unless LC stressed the seam somehow. I thought Reynolds stacked two cast cylinders to reach 13', I was surprised to see the seam down the side.

Have a look at the install: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1IYAOjLyJY

To be clear, I never stated it wasn't a manufacturing mistake. The installer is the first to be blamed, and most likely, LC will have to be the ones dealing with Reynolds ;) At least they don't have to deal with ATM

Also, this is on a "boat", did you know that part? Would you install a massive seamed acrylic tank on a boat?

A boat? First I heard of that. Well that might affect the warranty. Guess I should have figured after watching the video..... It was obviously "rough seas".

Its like some large barge or something IIRC.

I'm just glad I have no dog in this fight, it's gonna be a messy one.

The Casino/Horse Track is on dry land. The casino is a three story building in Hallandale. Not sure where the boat thing came from but this is not one of them. We do have a lot of cruise ships that do casino cruises to nowhere.

Came from a quote in an article from a person involved. I care not to go find the link as like I said, I have no dog in this fight  not worth any effort in other words.

THe quote said it was built on a barge.
