pencil urchin stories

Has anyone ever had a pencil urchin in their reef? Any thoughts on their compatibility? Do they eat much coralline algae? Just curious. tnx in advance.

The problem with pencil urchins in captivity is finding enough nutrition for them. They usually starve in captivity.

I have a pencil urcin in my fish/invert system and he is a really awesome critter . He likes to crawl on my LR and doesn't do much damage. As for feeding, I feed him every few days with a sheet of dried fresh seaweed on a lettuce clip. I've had him for about a month and he is doing great
