Feeding LPS

Maybe it's just me but I have been feeding my LPS corals pellets soaked in fish oil for years and they seem to thrive on it. I also feed other things but this is relatively easy and I like to get as much fish oil into them as I can.
Bubble corals, torch corals and candy canes I know will eat this.
You can see in this picture just above the reflected light the pellet going down it's mouth

My LPS love pellets too. I feed my whole tank the NLS Marine Pellets I think the 1mm ones, everyone loves them including the LPS. Just curious though, is it that much better to soak them in fish oil? Doesn't your skimmer act funny when you feed those due to the oil?

The skimmer is not affected as long as the oil soaks in to the pellet.
IMO they are much better with fish oil.
I feed everything with one of these

WOW, those are great. Where did you find them? I have a very short pipette and I always get my hands wet when feeding lps and anemones.

Interested in knowing what fish oil you use, and where you got that elaborate set of "turkey basters"?... hahaha

I use a regular turkey baster,it was like 3 bucks at target lol Those are pretty cool though Paul where did you get them? They come with a bent tip like that I'm guessing? That's actually way better to control how much food comes out.

Personally I never used fish oil. I never really thought about it. I mix up my food a lot though. I have a good variety of frozen food..mysis, formula 1 and 2, prime reef and brine. Then I also have various types of gel food cyclopeeze etc etc. I also mix in various marine chips,flakes and pellets. A varied diet is really the best thing we can offer our animals so it's always good to switch it up people! Think about if you ate steak every single day you would eventually hate steak and not want to eat it.

Fish or any other creature will try and take food from corals because it's in 1 spot not flying around the tank. It's always best to feed fish first, THEN corals so the fish are already full and the corals can eat in peace.

I don't soak it in water or the oil will not absorb

But I really don't want to use oil.

Then don't feed pellets to your corals. It is not much good to them without oil. Feed them fish or clams.

A varied diet is not the answer, the answer is to feed them what they are supposed to eat
