Duncan coral - chunky tentacles

My duncan coral's tentacles used to be somewhat long but over the last few months, they've slowly retreated and swelled up. They no longer look smooth but rather chunky. What can it be?

Is in heavy flow? I've seen Duncans do they are in heavy currents

No, I would stay its in medium flow

Mine did not open yet had them in the tank for a week or so ?

Have you changed anything? Lighting? Don't have too much experience with Duncans but most of my corals with tentacles go through cycles in which they extend and contract.

I would be more concerned if you changed something specific in the tank or if your water parameters changed suddenly.

Well, about the same time my 2-part messed up and caused the alkalinity to skyrocket. All of the coral recovered easily except the duncan whose been like that ever since.

Well, it could be you shocked them. Their colors look good so I think it's just a matter of giving it time to reaclimate.
