I have a 300 gallon reef tank which is supporting a mixed reef. I am using natural sea water 250 gallons per each month. Always after 2-3 weeks of new water change my hammer become slowly unhappy. I am dosing kalkwasser/sodium bicarbonate/seachem iodide/ k balance. seachem zooplankton/ phytoplankton/coral vitaliser and reef pearls(powder). I would like to increase the interval between water changes but my hammer coral doesn't like it. My acropora/montipora/brain and Other sps are ok witout large water changes and they are totally happy. The hammer coral was with me for 2 years and it's a wall hammer. I tried everything to keep the hammer coral without water changes but it's impossible. Thanks.

Wall hammers are notorious for doing this. They just don't do well in our tanks. Once one small piece starts to die the whole piece will eventually go.

Thanks. But the Coral has grown alot from the day I received it. I hope that means I need to replace water every month.
