Acan Question

So I added a couple of acanthastrea to my tank a couple of months ago in an attempt to increase color in the system. All is going well, new heads forming etc. Now one of the larger polyps in one colony has deflated and remained that way for a couple of days. Smaller heads on same peice are inflated and all others peices are also inflated. Any ideas as to why one single polyp in a colony would be unhappy?

Nope. Each colony has a two to three inch border around it. This one is the top polyp. The two on the sides of the same colony are fine. COuld it be the lighting? I know some color morphs are more sensitive than others.

Try moving it see if that helps.

I had had the same thing happen try spot feeding. That worked for me

Sorry for the picture delay but had to charge the camera. As you can see, all other acan and favia are happy. Just this one, now two polyps unhappy.

Moved the acan about 2 inches forward, more indirect lighting there, and it is now re-expanded and feeding. Who'd of thought it would take so little.
