It is my understanding the the correct ballast for the 250 watt 10K AB bulbs is An ANSI M80 ballast. I do not want to under run these bulbs But also don't want to spend $139ea for a bare Advance M80 Ballast.
I also believe that variious manufacturers of kits Are using M138 ballasts for 250W...
Hi All,
I've been using LOA 9266 for almost 2 years. Two on my refugium, one over my sump, one over my prop tank and now one on my 10g Nano. I have had two failures both within the last few months and both over my refugium. both have been the same failure (different unit each time) -- the light...
Good morning guys,
The 27 watt that Aots is picturing looks remarkably like a LOA product (model 9027) that is available at the local HD -- there was alot of discussion about these lights abt a year ago in the DIY section. The replacement bulbs (Fml-27ex) lettered in red are rumored to be...
Thanks for the replies.
I think I remember reading abt the tooth pick method back a year or two when I was just looking at this board for the first time -- that's what extreme age (over fifty) does to you.
My prop tank has a fairly high current so I will try the tooth picks and let you all...
Hi everyone -- it has been a while since I posted.
have a large (6in. top) yellow leather that has developed a large hole in the center. I have cut it into 6 pieces and have it held tovarious pieces of reef rubble by elastics. Theses pieces have been in my prop tank for the last 3 days. The...
Since I'm always money challenged, I'm looking to clone a Remora HO skimmer for my experimental 10gal Nano. Particularly interested in the baffle arrangement and inlet chamber dimensions.
I know I can never duplicate the nozzle, but the other dimensions will help me along the way.
TIA
Jawbone,
IMO from your picture they look more like Aptasia to me. If their little arms are bent and knobby they are probably Aptasia. A couple of peppermint shrimp took care of mine when I first discovered mine. If I can find a picture of mine I'll post the link -- I'm not to successful with...
Jawbone,
thanks for the reply -- guess it could be but looks more like egg sack or something -- those white specks are distribute throught out the mass.
Thanks for trying to post the pic again I finally just posed it as a hyperlink to another site.
Photopoint is down and has no indication that...
Hi all,
I found this cottony ball in my tank this morning -- it is firmly attached to the sand -- the anchor looks almost like a bristle worm. I'd appreciate any help possible.
It's only about an inch in diameter!
I'm going to try to post a picture -- we'll see
Regards,
Don
didn't work -- I...
I aske the same question on an other board abt a week ago. The end result was that peppermint shrimp will eat decaying and dead matter but will not attack xenia. It was suggested that there might be another culprit in the tank that I didn't know about.
Quess what -- there where -- two little...
