After a week or so, I'm begining to see many more of these guys on the glass, especially after the lights go out. They are also free swiming, and then swim all over the tank. They vary in length from 1/8 of an inch to 3/4 of an inch.

So, after 12 days of ROing, here are the results of the filters. There was no way we were going to wait 6 months, per manufacturer's suggestion to change them out! 8O

Thanks tackett. The temp and gravity was identical to what was at the LFS. We asked regarding that too. We did research before we purchased. Linkias are algae eaters, no? Also, it's not like the serpents... it appears to move very slowly. Not disagreeing.. just asking more questions, thats...

We purchased a blue linkia starfish about 3 days ago. We did the proper acclimation, and today it looks deflated. Has this happened to anyone, and is normal? If not, what to do?

We got the TDS meter in the mail, and here are the results: Tap Water: 215 PPM RO Water: 000 PPM. (We thought the TDS Meter was broken when we tried the RO water first.) At least we know our 6 stage filter is working!! Bad news is, those filters cost about $40.00 to change out! 8O Any...

OK good. This is what we are using as well.. a 6-stage include DI. We are also thinking about putting on a water purifier for the entire plumbing, hopefully it would be cheaper in the long run than to replace these filters every week! 8O

Same here. Waiting on the new filters, the one thats in use now is a brown paper bag color. :(

How many stages of filters do you have?

yeah... that's what I plan on doing. I will post results when I get it up and running too. In the mean time, we are very happy with the new "clean" water. :) ... the fish will be too.
