Isn’t a membrane basically a bag with microscopic holes that allow water through and solids to be held and washed out in the disposed water? And if this is what a membrane is wouldn’t an old membrane only become clogged and less efficient in it’s usage of water?

After using this for a day, we're seriously thinking about putting in a "house filter".
Has anyone contacted their town regarding water purity? And if so, what procedures have you done, and has the town responded either way?
TDS meter is coming. Just ordered today.

That happens to me too. The TDS of our tap water ranges from 550 to 600.
Lots of rust and very very hard. If you fill up the bathtub, you can see the water has a slight rust colored tinge.
I have added many prefilters to my RO/DI system for this reason.
I also don't drink the plain tap water either.
