thanks for all the suggestions. I know you all disagree but I believe the quarentene is to extreme a step to have to go through. Over the last 3 or 4 years this has only happended a few times so it has all worked out o.k.
I'm going to stick with Len and asume that he will work his way through...
My valentine puffer has ich. I bought him about 2 weeks ago so I realize the stress may have caused it. My question is, nothing I have ever used in the past that was safe for a reef tank was ever really effective. You know the garlic cure ect... Is there anythink that has come out that reallly...
I have had my leather mushroom coral for about 2 years. the last couple of days his little tenicales are not coming out when the light comes on. Is this a sign that he's sick.
I understand that when you replace mh bulbs you should reduce the time the lights are on for the first week. Is this true and how should the new lights best be phased in. I dont want to kill my corals!!
I am thinking of setting up a small secondary tank to keep sea horses. is anyone an expert on these little guys...Should I go with the reef set up of live sand live rock and a protien skimmer???
Do they need live food or is frozen acceptable??
anthing else I need to know???
thanks for all the info. I have formula one and will give it a try. if I dont see him eat i will try live brine...It was a gift from my wife as well!!!~!
I was given a mandarin goby as a gift. I heard it is difficult to get them to eat in captivity. Are their any foods or hints you can suggest to give him a fighting chance :D
I have a 60 gallon reef tank with 6o pounds of live sand and about 80 pounds of live rock. The only filtration I am using is a ramora protien skimmer. I make weekly 5 gallon water changes. Should I be adding any filtration? if so what and why. If I shouldnt add any additional filtration why?
The last 4 or 5 fish I have intoduced to my tank have not lasted more then a few weeks. No noticable disease or probems with other fish. All were eating. I have 2 fish a clown and a cardinal that have been with me for 2 years. My soft corals and clam are doing great. no new fish will join them...
My wife supprised me with a fish that was called a dragon wrasse. Is this going to be a good fish for my reef tank or are there any potential problems.
thanks guys your comments were very helpful. Mind is 2/3 up the tank with my 2 17w mh bulbs. I'll watch to see if he's happy or I'll move him down a bit.
thanks
again..
