After my 5 yr old sea swirl stopped occillating(sp) I went with a scwd. It works great and uses no power.

I have the 1/4 hp. My tank couldn't survive w/out it...literally. Very quiet, keeps temp within 2* of set. hth

Sorry KathyC, no pics just yet. I'll borrow my son's camera when he gets back. But it's like the fingers wither away at the base & a stub drops off and attaches to live rock & propogates itself from there. The parent still looks "stocky" at the base but all the fingers are dropping off :frown...
