Its hard to get my hand down there to disconnect and reconnect it. Plus the 8 gal has no room for a skimmer so I was looking to go a little bigger to add a skimmer.
Anyone have any experience with this tank? I have an oceanic 8 gal but my pump in the overflow decided that it was just done working for no reason. This 16gal tank has a dual return and a pretty neat set up I think. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. I'd like to know if...
Thanks, I have been planning on removing the top but Im just not sure how to do it. I dont want to break it because I want to keep it as a backup light in case something happens to the bulb. Once I figure out how to remove it without breaking it or damaging the tank then thats what Im gonna do.
Way better than the PC's. Such better color to the tank and having the open top has cooled the tank and keeps the temp manageable. Im liking the 14 k too. Im gonna stick with it. Let me know how the dimmers work for ya.
So a little background about my experiences. I have been in the saltwater hobby for about 6 years now. I had a 45 Gal reef a couple of years ago and due to some events I needed to break it down. About a month ago I got the itch again and realized I missed the hobby. I had an Oceanic 8 Gallon...
So it seems as if my hermits keep knocking my corals down so I was wondering what do you guys find as the best way to mount corals. I used super glue in the past but I was thinking of epoxy. Just use a little bit of it to attach the plug to the rock. Then if I want to move it I could always...
Those are very very bad.... Quick get them out and put them into my tank. I will handle them from there :) haha but seriously those are good, fish and coral eat them. It means your tank is maturing and becoming more self sufficient
I have one (8Gal) but the problem is that the hood heats the water up real quick. And the PC lighting dosent give you much color or growth. Other than that you just need to get a little creative with the filter and its not a bad deal.
The temp in my 8gal nano gets as high as 86 at some points and my coral don't even close up. Obviously I wouldn't wanna keep flirting with temperatures like that but 83 shouldn't be a reason for death UNLESS the temperature jumped that high very quickly and shocked the fish
There is nobody you know that can help watch over the tank while your gone? I'm sure someone in here must be close enough to help you out. I would rely on anything if your going to be gone for a week.
