  1. surge device questions

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a good way to go.
  2. surge device questions

Rikko, how long have you had the Borneman version going? Have you had any problems with anything fouling the flapper valve?
  3. surge device questions

Anyone with surge device experience in a sixty gallon or similar tank? How many gallons surge, and what size pipe work well?
  4. opinions on AquaFuge

Seamaiden: I'll take your word for it, I have no experience going that route. :)
  5. opinions on AquaFuge

Is this a case of bigger is better? Doing estimate from product info, it looks like I could fit the 18" model and still have room for the rest of the equipment.
  6. opinions on AquaFuge

    Thanks for the input.
  7. opinions on AquaFuge

I moved about six months ago, had to get rid of two 75 gallon reefs. Now, I really want a new one, but am limited for space. I have a 30 gallon tank, some lights and equipment, but will probably have to go sumpless to have room for automation equipment in the stand. (I'm gone several weeks...
  8. How often to feed bubbletip anemone?

ESMITHII: to answer part two of the original post, I had an Ocellaris that took about 9 months to notice my E.quadricolor, after that it would seldom leave it.
  9. Anyone in/close to Prescott, AZ?

Prescott has reservoirs for water, too, not just wells, but the population is growing a lot faster than the water resouces. Even when I lived there 20 years ago they had some problems in drought years.
  10. Listing the number of years you have been in the hobby.

Hi. I had FW for about 6 years in the late 70's-early 80's, and SW fish for a year or so during that time. Work & moving forced me out of the hobby for a while, but I started reefing in late '97. Dale
  11. Question about live rock in a new tank....

Dewman - I agree you need ammonia for the bacteria. I only referred to excessive ammonia, an amount so high it would be detrimental for inverts such as the hitch-hiker corals we would all love to preserve. This is only likely to be a problem with uncured live rock with a massive amount of...
  12. Plywood Tank Builders’ I need your help

I've been looking into the plywood question more thouroughly, as I plan a plywood tank eventually, too. There is a large plywood mill in this area, so have good input from employees there. The main difference between marine grade and exterior grade is the interior laminates. As has already...
  13. How to propagate corraline algae

It makes the margaritas taste funny too.
  14. A little eye candy

New Screensaver!!! Thanks seamaiden. Smokin Reefer - Cool urchin pic. Mine covered itself with palythoa four months ago. Both Urchin and Polyps are thriving.
  15. Question about live rock in a new tank....

Xx - good post. The only thing I would add is...Be prepared for latge water changes in case of a severe ammonia spike. Dale
