  1. getting a clown to move into an anenome

Basic question, point me to another post if you like. I bot a midsized maroon clown last week, and a nice sized bubble tipped anenome. Both are eating and doing very well. Any suggestions for getting the clown to "move in?" Thanks
  2. moving an anenome

success! Moved one powerhead over and blew it at him, turned off the other powerhead. presto, he moved about a foot around the corner and onto a smaller piece of live rock. I then just turned that rock and made sure he was out of the direct flow. And then I fed him, which further made him...
  3. moving an anenome

Thx for idea. Only problem is he is on a huge piece of live rock at the bottom of my pile. Really tough to move. Will i hurt him with the plastic spoon? Any other ideas?
  4. moving an anenome

Any advice/direction on moving an anenome would be great. Got a very nice and decent sized (size of my hand) bubble tip. Doing great, but found a home in back of tank. I know they go where they are happiest, but I would be happier if he would hang out where I can see him. 220g, two tunze's...

First of all, thank you so much for the feedback. I obviously need the advice!! I did take a closer look at the fuge tonite and it is a bit of a mess. caleurpa looks fine but i have some ugly flooating algae (like you would see in a lake). I am getting that at and will thin the calerupa (any...

  8. tank I am regaining control of

In the past 6-9 months we had our third child and I started a new business. As a result, my wonderful 220g tank took a back seat (and didn't fare too well). Over this timeframe i didnt change the water, and my calcium reactor broke. My skimmer also was off and on during this timeframe. I am...

  10. Metal Halides for a 220g tank

new lights are doing great!! have dialed the temps back on my heaters a bit as lights increase temp 3-4 degrees. Used to aim for 78 and could get to 81-82. Now aim for 76 and dont get past 80. On my fuge I am going to add around a 25 gallon fuge below the tank. Put some live rock in it...

  12. Crabs VS. Snails

Have had the same experience. Blue legged hermit eating snails in a 220g. Watched it happend 2 weeks ago but hasn't happened since. It was a larger crab vs a slightly smaller snail. Hermit won, didn't want the shell after the fact. wonders of nature.
  13. Snail eating hermits?

I have two huge hermits, bigger than any snails I have (and I have a few big snails (like the size of a quarter)
  14. Snail eating hermits?

len I enjoy looking at my blue legged hermits. Cool creatures and they like to put on a show for us from time to time (stand up on their legs and walk with shell up in the air). however, the snails do more work than them in terms of keeping things clean. they don't seem to be eating all my...
