    If minimally "adequate"light and water movement is supplied they should do OK anywhere in your tank. But,bright direct light and calm water movement is what they like best. their feeding tentacles are usually out at night,sometimes during the day and they will almost beg for food. Hope this helps.

    Are you talking about gentle water flow in the refug? If so some of our reef gods ( experts )would disagree with you but you can always tell them it's your tank and you can do what you want with it. Why not make your 55 gal. sump into a refug. all in one? Just an thought.

    P. filamentosus males will fight. maybe if you had a 150 gal.and put them both in at the same time it might be alright. Also with this species females are kind of hard to find.
