  1. Volume and velocity question

Yes, this is great but it dosen't take into account the 1" hose barbs that have 3/4" ID's I increased the nozzle to 1/2" openings still have good movement in the tank! I need to measure the gph
  2. Volume and velocity question

but isn't that right out of the nozzle the further from the nozzle it gets the slower it get I think
  3. Volume and velocity question

That was with the 3/8" nozzle, I haven't measured the 3/4" or the 1/2" nozzles yet.
  4. Volume and velocity question

I just reversed engineered your calculation and came up with 4.5pfs is this correct
  5. Volume and velocity question

Chris, Thank you, I measured the flow out of 1 nozzle last night and I was getting 375gph. How many fps is that and how did you come to this conclusion what is the calculation
  6. Volume and velocity question

all slip adapters and T4 have an ID of 3/4"

I have one also, just going along for the ride to see whats said!
  9. Volume and velocity question

My setup: I have a customsealife T4 pump at 0’ its rated at 1446gph at 6’ its rated at 1200gph I’m using 1” tubing, vertical length = 4.75’, horizontal length = 4’, 1 right angle, and the tubing bends over a 2’ length to make another right angle so I figure 1200gph is about what I’m getting...

  13. I am starting a new 20 gal salt tank

don't use southdown you'll be sorry....spend the extra $15 or $20 and get a bag of live sand from your lfs
  14. Yellow Sand

my 2 cents take it or leave it. I wouldn't use southdown its to fine. I wouldn't go above 3" sand beds work fine at that level with the right sand and I wouldn't run a skimmer while cycling a new tank unless it had a ton of live rock dumped in at one time and even then I wouldn't
  15. DSB controversy...spanning the boards.
