  1. New Pump for my Remora

Go with the Mag 3. I use one on my Remora Pro which orginally came with the RIO pump. I switched to the Mag once I realized the RIO was crap. No problems with the Mag.

  3. Updated pics of my 72-dailup intense

Okay, how do you keep that green star in such a nice shape. Do you trim it once in a while? Mine is growing all over the place!
  4. Fluval 404 noise too much to bear!

You'll probably get replies saying to do away with the canister altogether, but I've been running an Eheim 2217 for 3 years now. It makes no noise whatsoever. Very high quality filter.
  5. Sally Lightfoots - aggressive?

My guess is that the hermit was already dead. I've had sally lightfoots for 3 years. They don't seem to bother anything. They will eat fish, snails and crabs if they are already dead, though. I don't think they will eat coralline algae. They also won't touch cyano (darn it).
  6. need some expert opinions on my tank

What size tank is that? It looks really tall. I like the aquascaping. Good Job!
  7. Overfeeding?

No, if they seem to be doing okay I wouldn't mess with them. Just keep an eye on them if you reduce the hours of lighting. They will probably do fine. They are really hardy.
  8. Overfeeding?

OOPS! I didn't see your water change comments initially. That's probably okay. I bet the lighting change will help out a lot. You don't have anything that needs a lot of light. Just keep the star polyps near the top of the tank.
  9. Overfeeding?

I have a 75 gallon that's stocked very much like yours. I just have one yellow tang, though. I have 100 pounds of live rock. I have a problem occasionally with cyano, and I don't think I overfeed either. I think it's the tang. Those things eat like horses and poop about the same. You might...
  10. MY CLOWNS ARE ON A HUNGER STRIKE

Have you noticed any white spots on them (possibly only in the morning) or stringy white feces? If so, they may have ICH. This happened to a couple of tank raised false percs I had. They eventually died, but the first thing I noticed is they wouldn't eat. I got another pair and the same...
  11. The invasion of bubble algae

I had a problem with bubble algae until I got a yellow tang. That guy ate every bit of it and won't let it come back. I don't know if all tangs will eat it though.
  12. My cleaner shrimp I think is dying before my very eyes??

I had the same thing happen to my cleaner shrimp a few months ago. I would say it was old age. I got another one and he's doing fine. I don't know the life span of a shrimp, but I wouldn't think it would be really long.
  13. Anyone order from petsmart.com?

Anyone every used these guys? I just saw that they sell the 200 gallon bucket of Instant Ocean salt for $34.99 and only charge $7.99 to ship it. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. How can they ship a bucket that probably weighs 60 pounds for so little?
  14. Does your Royal Gramma (or any other fish) dig?

I have a royal gramma, and he has never dug into the sand. He does like to hide out in small holes in the rock, though. He also likes to open his mouth to intimidate the other fish. He never hurts them, though. He's a cool fish! Maybe he is fighting his reflection. I have a yellow tang...
  15. automatic feeders/battery air pumps

Thanks, liquid. I was actually looking into a generator as well, so the article was very helpful. As far as the feeder goes, I usually do have someone come over to check on my tank, but I would feel better if I didn't have to rely on this person (not a fish keeper) to feed the fish.
