  1. lighting for corals... yeah yeah, I know..."heard it be

No one has even mentioned mh's so...lol You mention scroll coral, which usually need high lighting and advanced care...if you are talking about the one I'm thinking of *damn common names these days*...low light sps would probably be fine, but like I said, don't expect brilliant coloration such...
  2. Frozen food question

Ocean Nutrition, SBB, Fish King, they are all good quality (preference to fish king) and all must obey the standards of food preparation. There really is no one better except maybe prettier packaging on some lol
  3. lighting for corals... yeah yeah, I know..."heard it be

I wouldn't recommend it and even if you could you more than likely wouldn't get good coloration most seek.
  4. Help with new marine life!

It sounds like a mix of the star not adjusting within the acclimation and the ammonia/nitrates should not be detectable with inverts, as a matter of fact ammonia shouldn't be detectable at all regardless. Most stars don't seem to recoup after such an incident, so watch for deterioration since...
  5. Coral Beauties and corals?

All dwarf angels are considered hit or miss. I have always had success with them in not sampling any corals, but others have not. Most likely picked at seem to be anything with lengthy tentacles :P
  6. hawkfish

Death to your cleaner a likely possibility. 6lines are great. Occassionally you will get an over aggressive 6line, but they are usually pretty docile and love cruising the tank...they are also hardy fish :)
  7. Mini Breeding System?

I am going to create a mini breeding center and I was wondering, can the main breeding tanks be connected together as in a flow-through system or must they be separate, if so why? I understand that the grow out and other transfer tanks must be on their own system. Thank you :)
  8. Fish Food, please respond? :?:

Yes because I wanted greater exposure in diversity; however, only in two sections so too much space isn't taken up :) OK, I know of the popular brands such as Ocean Nutrition, San Francisco Bay Brand, Hikari, etc, but what are your opinions on foods created by Fish King (Frank Suerth)? He is...
  9. Fish Food, please respond? :?:

Shipping evens out when you order in larger quantities plus provides an easier means of maintaining food stocks that lfs usually don't carry. In addition to the original questions, do you prefer to shop by brand name or rather what the product contains/made up of?
  10. Fish Food, please respond? :?:

Do any of you order online at all, if not, why? Any others wish to answer the original questions, please? :) Thank you
  11. Fish Food, please respond? :?:

Hello, what fish foods do you prefer to feed your fish (example: mysis, krill, cyclops, formula one/two, etc) and in what form (example: frozen, flake, freeze-dried, etc)? Do you purchase your foods online or from store fronts? Thanks to everyone who answers, hopefully everyone will :)

  13. Ocean water

I second what Len has just said (unless of course you happen to live on an undisturbed island with prestine waters) plus adding to it that the cleaner ocean water isn't surface water either. You have to go at least a couple feet down to get to the good stuff, so I've heard.
  14. Nature's Ocean LS

What are your opinions on the Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Aragonite Live Sand? Any of you who have used it and recommend or don't recommend it, why? Thank you :)
  15. Tomoto Clown in Bubble Coral (not Anemone)

It is not unusual for a pair to have a couple hosts :P As long as the bubble coral is not closing up due to irritation and you have provided enough light in a suitable environment for the anemone, you should be fine. Just give them more time :)
