  1. Heniochus Butterfly

I recently acquired three Heniochus Butterfly fish and noticed something. It doesn't seem as though they ever rest, or "sleep." They are active all hours of the day and night. Is this normal? Anybody else seen anygthing like this? Id appreciate and info you guys have. Thanks

Thats what I have- works great for me.
  3. Feeding cleaner shrimps

Mine take krill from my hand- kinda fun.
  4. anemone split

So I've had this Rose Bulb Anemone for about a month. Everything was going well, has two maroon clowns hosting in it and it seemed to find a good place to call home. Last night it split in the tank. I'm kinda stoked as I've read about this happening, but never actually seen it. I was just...
  5. Lighting Question

I have a 75g tank that I want to get rid of in favor of a smaller more easily movable tank more suitable to apartment lifestyle. So, I'll be keeping a lot of my equipment and was wondering how small of a tank I can put the 250W MH lights on? I was hoping to get a tank in the 12-20g range, but...

  7. actinic T5

Go to Home Depot and check out the rope lights. For like $6 you can get a 12ft. strand of the blue ones and I heard they make decent moonlights for cheap.
  8. Check out this tank

Man, I hope they just threw those in there for the picture.
  9. Heres the first pic of my new tank

I believe its Takashi Amano that refers to a "Golden Spot" in every tank. A place that the eye will be naturally drawn to that should be the main focus. If I remember correctly its a 3/5 rule. 3/5 of the length and 3/5 of the height on either side of the tank should be hot spots. I know his...
  10. Help for my friend's new tank!

I agree with Ben- setting everything up before you add livestock of any kind is key. Also- tell your friend to stay away from damsels, he'll be kicking himself in the ass later.
  11. Need input for my 180...

Looks like you have a fantastic start. I would suggest waiting on the fish and start adding a cleanup crew slowly as the tank warrants it. Once that stabalizes then start adding a fish or two at a time. Keep the pics comming.
  12. Fresh Water Rinse?

I tried to do that once, with a single piece of LR and it didn't work for me. I couldn't get the algae off- Let me know if it does for you, or what else you get to work cause I'd like to try it.
  13. Need some help to sell my aquarium

Ok, my lease is up in december, and i'll be looking at trying to move all my tanks for the second time. Currently I have a 55g and 120g FW as well as a 75g reef. This is just too damn much and kinda stupid for me to own until I get someplace I plan on staying for more than a year. I just sold...

is that a cpr bakpak hanging on the left? i thought i had read that it was possible to overskim a tank, is that true? im looking to get rid of my 75g for a 10-20g tank as it is more mobile, and had a number of questions as to how to skim it.
