I doubt this has anything to do with it, but I remember reading that the aluminum oxide based phosphate absorbers can stress soft corals. I think there is something about fully rinsing the absorber prior to use so that particles of aluminum oxide do not float out and settle on the coral...

Ok, I moved them down to the refugium, but still no burrowing. They seem to try to get down under the refugium substrate, but them give up. I have a mix of mud and sand, and the top layer is mostly the mud. So I'm guessing the Nassarius don't like to burrow in mud. They are just moving...

So does room temperature or solar evaporation cause it to form calcite or something? Maybe you could get that stuff to dissolve in your CO2 calcium reactor. Or use one of those planted tank CO2 systems in the water change mixing tank.
