    thanks guys! that nitrification/denitrification 101 really helped what would you recommend? 3" or 4"? Should i buy all of it "live" or just the top layer? (and then let the bottom develop) or do they sell both kinds of sands? thanks again!!

    How exactly does live sand work? i understand how live rock work (the rock contains lots of microorganisms that basicly acts like a bio-filter) because water is constantly moving in and out and around them at all times. But in a live sand bed....there is sand on the surface which get the same...

    i know that i'm still new to this hobby, but i read something about this yesterday. Do you have any anemones in your tank? if you do, the "milk" is probably sperm! i'm not 100% sure about it, so don't get mad if i'm wrong

    okay....i'm confused.... this is going to sound really stupid but i thought in order to run VHO bulbs, don't you need a VHO Ballast Kit? ($219? and that doesn't even include the bulbs...) how would that be cheaper than the MH? *confused*
