  1. Propagating E quadricolor (yes, I know it's not a coral)

I'll be comin up around august or so. that's when i get back from boot. you still gonna be around?
  2. Is this to big

Also, I dunno how high your light is on the tank or how you do top off water, but surges generally add a fair amount of bubbles into the water and they cause your water to evaporate quite a bit quicker as well. Just a few things to consider. I expect pictures if you do it.
  3. Is this to big

sounds like a pretty decent surge for a 10 gal tank. you've probably only got 7 or 8 gallons of actual water and surging a quarter of the volume of the tank is a pretty damn huge surge. My guess is that you wouldn't need something that big. But it sounds pretty sweet when and if you get it to work.
  4. Propagating E quadricolor (yes, I know it's not a coral)

You are correct sir. Do they? damn, i'm gonna have to set me up a nano with one of them when i get to my base.
  5. Surge tank and overflow height?

Well, when my system was running, the surge was going every 6 or 7 min. I think that if you try to fill it too much, it'll take to long to have the siphon start and you could end up just pumping water to your floor. A 10 gallon surge is good sized surge for that tank. I'm not sure if you would...
  6. Sump advice

another thing to think about is how many bubbles you want in your tank. Depending on skimmer you you use, you can send a whole lot of bubbles into your tank from the exit pipe from the skimmer. In my old sump I had to put the main return pickup pointing down and about 10 inches from the skimmer.
  7. What brand of paint should I paint acrylic with?

why are you tryin to paint the inside?
  8. Surge tank and overflow height?

Moosehead, that's a pretty decent size surge for that tank. I used to run a 4 gallon surge on my 52 and it stured everything up in the tank very very well. There was no detritus on any of the acro's and the rose loved it. The surge only went off every few minutes and it lasted for a good 15...

  11. Propagating E quadricolor (yes, I know it's not a coral)

then the other one did this a month or so later.
  12. Propagating E quadricolor (yes, I know it's not a coral)

this is what one of the halves turned into. it's over 12 inches across
  13. Propagating E quadricolor (yes, I know it's not a coral)

I wonder who that is? I bet it worked.
  14. 250W or 400W for a 90gal?

I ran a 400w 20k k bulb on my tank and it made just about everything happy. My rose was absolutely gorgeous, the greens were super vibrant and my blue zooanthids looked damn good as well. As did the blue dots on my gigas.
  15. Thickness of glass

I'm with supaboy, but it does take some practice gluing acrylic without bubbles or leaks. Good thing it's cheap for scraps to practice on.
