The recirculation pump will stay as is with the venturi. The only difference is that now the pump is getting the water from inside the skimmer body, so there's very little/no head pressure. The feed is just to get water into the chamber. The pump will simply continue to recycle the water from...
That's just a 1" to 1/2" reducer from home depot. The elbow there does nothing, it's just for support. I had it laying around and used it to keep the weight off the bulkhead. That's all. The small ball valve i use when i am cleaning the skimmer, i just shut it off. The smaller green valve i use...
I like to use glue for my gorgonians. I drill a small hole in a live rock rubble. Then i strip back the flesh. Fill the hole with super glue and set the gorgonian. Hardens alot faster then epoxy and looks way better. If you want to put it on a rock in the tank, maybe do like i told you, then...
Your leather will be ok. Sometimes when you move it or it's disturbed, it takes a little while for it to open back up. In this case the rock falling on top of it caused it to close up. It will be fine. HTH
Unfortunately you have to take the sump offline. Just drain the water into buckets and save it. Take the partition out and cut it. Resilicone it. If you have enough space to get a drill in there, you can also drill some holes, pending it's plexiglass.
So lower your first partition, lower your...
You mentioned the euroreef skimmer. It only requires 6-8" sump level to operate optimally. Why is your water level so high?...Maybe i missed something, is this a test run or something?...Are you allowing for a backflow from the main tank?..Looks like that will certainly overflow...
I always use...
Yes they are feeding tentacles. They can also develop sweeper tentacles which are more adopted for defense, or aggression. My trumpets put out 4-5" sweepers.
All in all, you will always see them like that at night, it's natural. Good time to feed them too. HTH
Hi,
I've been using the salifert calcium and alk test kits. Normally i use the full strengh test. But to extend the kit i started using the 1/2 strengh they suggest. My problem is that i get slightly different results. Is this normal?..Which test method should i use?...Thanks.
I can't say for sure whether this will eliminate all bubbles. What are the specs of your sump?..There's many variables that determine whether this is possible or not. Keep in mind that the bigger the sump the better it is to dissipate the bubbles. Also if you are pushing alot of water through a...
Do you have any baffles in your sump?...If not then thats your problem. In order to minimize microbubbles you have to give them time to dissipate. Otherwise the current will carry them right through your return pump and back to the tank. Try placing some baffles, that should help.
If you are going to use a wavemaker i would recommend you get rid of the rio's. Get some maxijets and you will have some nice current in your tank.
Rio's have a tendency to stop fuctioning if turned off. That could lead to a meltdown that can crash your tank. Just a suggestion. HTH
