I know these are basic questions, but did you test the output with a multimeter? Make sure it's actually outputting 9V and that it isn't faulty. Also, are you sure you have the + wired to the blue DIM+ wire and the - wired to the white DIM- wire?

Can you describe the dimming circuit you're using? Are you using a 10V adapter or a controller?

The flash is just the driver discharging, that's normal. If they are flashing it sounds like the LEDs themselves are wired properly, but as you mentioned it's likely a problem with your dimming circuit wiring.

I'd suggest first turning the SVR2 knob all the way down (it comes set at max, 1.3A and you should be able to turn it counter-clockwise to lower the current). Next,wire a multimeter in line with the LEDs (wire it as if it's an LED) but make sure that the DIM + and DIM - wires are connected to a...

Yes they can, however the angle will be slightly different (ie. the 65 degree XP-G lens is actually a 55 degree when put on the XP-E).

The XP-E puts out about 20% more luminous flux (500 vs 425 @350mA) than the XR-E Royal Blue. Also, the footprint is different (the XP-E chip is much smaller) so the lens selection for the XP-E is more limited for the time being. We're working on getting a wider angled lens for the XP-E (70-80...

I think 72 LEDs will be fine, even for some SPS (especially if you're going to use XP-G's). 96 LEDs will basically ensure you can keep any type of coral you'd ever want without having to worry about sufficient lighting. If you're going to go with 96 I'd recommend going dimmable so you can...
