thanks for the info on aquacon, and reefermadness. I bought a green monti cap from a local reefer about year ago and it is doing good thats why i want to get some more they look so nice.

I was thinking of going to aquacon and they have an SPS coral pack 12 that they pick for you and it sounds like a great deal but just wanted to make sure that im not going to get the caral and end up having them die a slow and painfull death.

IS it possible to keep SPS under power compact lighting or is it necessary to have halides? I hace a 180 gal with 4 96 watt 10,000k dual daylights, and 2 96 watt actinics.

I have a 180 gal and i just dont think i have enough water movement. I was wondering what other people use in their larger tanks to keep the water moving and anything from settling on live rock etc.. Besides breaking down the tank and installing a wave box.

I am getting live rock from another tank is there any thing that i should do to the rock before putting it in my tank

I was just wondering what the average age of my fellow reef keepers were? And also feel free to post what you do for employment also. It would be interesting to find out. I am 28 and I am a project manager at an industrial mechanical contractor.

Do you have more than one piece of equipment running of it?

I am putting my sump in the Basement and dont want three different pumps running the circulation line, protien Skimmer, and the uv sterilizer, and any thing else I might want to install. My question is if anyone has any experience using one pump pushing 60-80 gpm at 20 ft head and splitting off...

I was just browsing the pic forum and saw that every one sand was clean I have a 180 and no matter what i'v tried the sand is still covered with Algea any sugestions more flow keep siphoning or are there some sea creature that can help.

I just purchased a UV Sterilizer and don't want to add another pump into the sump I was wondering if it would be good or bad to put it inline before my skimmer seeing I have to choke back the skimmer pump anyway.

I am looking into purchasing a reef cleaner package I found online anyone with experience good or bad.

I am getting a new skimmer for my 180 gal and am looking for some advice. I am bouncing between the bullet or the etss reef devil any sugestions.

What type of GPH should I have for a return pump. I have a Mag 12 now but it is only going from under the tank would that work form the basement or is that going to be undersized.
