    NO! they will grow in upwards of 3 feet and then begin to consume every living thing in your tank. When they have suceeded they will grow lights and turn into giant christmas trees. LOL just kidding man, yes there reef safe.

    250w double ends have the same output of 400w bulbs? then why does anyone use 400w bulbs if they can get the same thing for cheaper? Also you need to have a UV shield when using these HQI lamps, correct?
