Could CC be used as media in a canister filter?
Two reasons for the question.
Firstly, I have seen it used in RO/DI systems so I'm thinking it does have some use for filtering. It also seems like it would grow some bacteria which could help the overall water quality in the tank. Yes/No?

Its TRUE!!
I have had my Titanium $50 heater for less than 20 hours and I already managed to fry it!
Yup, I had a water emergency today and had to do a 70% water change. Not thinking about the new heater in the panic, I let the water down much further than the heater. Now it is burnt...
For RO/DI try ebay. I paid $137 shipped (new) for a Six stage and have had it running for a couple of weeks now. Water tests perfect.<Tastes great too)

It only took at little more than 5 days for the rocks to cure. I waited until the smell was gone and the levels were back down to normal.
Just to recap.. I had 90# of rock...
I did compare prices w/ both and SWF.com ended up almost 100 higher in price for the Fiji. <for me w/ shipping>
Just remember though.. no matter what you buy, it WILL need to be cured again. No matter what you will have some die off on the trip from SWF to you, thus needing to be cured. From...

Got it from these guys. Was the cheapest around and yes.. I feel like I got a GREAT deal. The guy at the LFS tried to scare me away from it saying you can't see what your getting. They (LFS's) all wanted between 8-12 per #. Seriously...
Awesome krullulon! Great names for what sounds like great livestock.
I can't wait until I get my tank going. I'm like a kid on Christmas eve. :D
