  1. anyone shooting canon's what gear do you use

Yes its a great portrait lens if you have room, not ideal for tight spaced portrait shots especially on a cropped sensor which is actually 160mm. Keep in mind the 2 major factors affecting DOF is aperature and distance to the subject.
  2. I need photo help with my canon g10

The G10 is a great camera, I shoot with Canon DSLRS and am a big fan of Canons. You should consider shooting RAW if you want to be able to easily adjust your pics. I meant shooting mode=Automatic, P, AV, TV or manual? Try this: 1. Set camera to TV mode at 1/100th of a sec, faster if you are...
  3. I need photo help with my canon g10

What mode do you use? Do you shoot in RAW? Are you using the zoom to the maximum? If you can, send me a sample pic and I will look at the exif information. There is a firmware update for your camera, not sure if it applys to you...
  4. I need photo help with my canon g10

There isn't really any optimal setting due to the all various factors. If you can explain exactly what you dont like about your pics would help. ie color is off=white balance, blurry pic=slow shutter speed, only a part of the pic is in focus=aperature, etc.
  5. ANYONE WILLING TO DONATE 90 GAL OR ANY 4FT-6ft TANK FOR A SCHOOL?

Yah-- I have a 48" PC lighting that you could have if you want it.
  6. anyone shooting canon's what gear do you use

Depends on your camera body too, I believe the Rebel series are not weather sealed.
  7. anyone shooting canon's what gear do you use

Levito, not sure what you mean but weather sealed means Canon uses 'O'-rings and gaskets to keep out water and dust, this doesn't mean that they are weather or waterproof.
  8. anyone shooting canon's what gear do you use

Main difference between the 100mm and 100mm L lens is IS (Image Stabilization). Most Canon "L" lenses are also weather sealed. You can also use the 100mm for portraits but I use the Sigma 1.4 85mm, very sharp lens.
  9. Which lens for Canon?

Between the two, my choice would be the 55-250mm. I had both lens and the 55-250mm is a much better lens and it has IS.
  10. Which lens for Canon?

I agree with THEDLO, for an all around lens get the 18-200mm, remember that your Xsi is cropped so the 75-300mm is actually 120mm-480mm (not good if you need to take a picture in tight spaces.) Sigma also makes an 18-200mm, a little cheaper but not as sharp.
  11. F/S Canon Telephoto EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Autofocus Lens

Bump, lower price $390, I want to get the IS version.
  12. Camera Questions And Sugguestions...

Look into "bridge" cameras, they are a cross between DSLRs and Point & Shoots. http://forum.digitalcamerareview.com/what-camera-should-i-buy/16419-best-bridge-camera-may-2010-a.html I have the Sony HX1, got it for the panorama sweeping technology, it's pretty cool but I think the Canon SX20...
  13. Need Help With 120mm Fan

Those are standard computer fans and it should work. This power brick is used to power desktop (3.5") IDE hard drives. I've used this one power brick on 8 X 80mm fans with splitters and it works fine.
  14. Need Help With 120mm Fan

You could use the power brick (with molex connector) from this usb to sata/ide adapter I got it from microcenter and they are cheap enough. I got it a few months ago on sale for $11.75. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0285941
