I just started up my 120g tank and my main pump is a GenX 70. It makes a lot of noise and I was wondering if there is any way to decrease the hum. I haven't mounted it on anything, I just have it resting on a towel that is folded to help muffel the hum. Any suggestions??

The UV light is an Emporer Aquatic 40W T5 Sorr about the pics, but having problems getting camera to work.

I heard that it was OK to use pool sand for a substrate if it was quartz, Is this true
